Yosemite 2024 | Two Days For Firefall And Waterfall Hiking

Overview

This was a quick two-day Yosemite trip:

• Day 1: watch Horsetail Fall Firefall
• Day 2: hike the demanding Yosemite Falls Trail, then stop by Bridalveil Fall and several classic Yosemite viewpoints

The short summary: legs were sore, but the views paid for everything.

Day 1 | Waiting For Firefall

The first evening was focused on Firefall. This season brings plenty of visitors, all waiting for the short window when golden-orange light hits the cliff.

We did catch the moment when Horsetail Fall lit up. It looked even more impressive in person than in the photo.

Day 2 | Yosemite Falls Trail And Classic Viewpoints

Day 2 was the real physical work. The lower section of Yosemite Falls Trail is already steep, with continuous climbing. It was harder than expected, and higher up there was more snow and rougher trail condition.

We took family photos along the way, with Yosemite Falls and canyon walls behind us. The scenery was strong.

After returning to the valley, we added Bridalveil Fall. Up close, the mist was heavy and the impact felt strong.

After that, it became a "photos tell the story" section through Yosemite's classic angles:
