We went to Del Valle for a weekend outing, and the "Bay Area Little Switzerland" feeling was real. This trip was all about an easy walk, open lake views, and a relaxed family-friendly pace.

Day 1 | Photos Tell The Story

We started around the Arroyo Del Valle Staging Area. The parking lot was already busy, and finding a spot was not easy.

Once we reached the grassy slopes above the lake, the view opened up immediately: blue sky, green hills, and the reservoir below. The hike itself was not hard, and it worked well as a stop-and-photo kind of walk.

The only awkward part was the parking enforcement. We ended up with a ticket, which snapped the day right back from vacation mode to real life.
